Units, Courses and Unit Sets

For your information, the lists of Units, Courses and Unit Sets, as currently recorded in SIMS, can be found at:

NC2012 Unit Change Requests

Detailed listings of approved NC2012 undergraduate and postgraduate units are now available.

All changes to NC2012 approved units and enquiries should be directed to Academic Policy Services by email curriculum-aps@uwa.edu.au.

System changes (where SIMS data does not match the data shown on the approved list) that can be actioned by the Student Systems team include:

  • Correction of unit codes and unit titles to match the approved unit lists.
  • Correction of unit availability to match the approved unit lists.
  • Correction of unit rules to match the approved unit lists.

Email system change requests to unitchanges@admin.uwa.edu.au.

Pre NC2012 Unit Change Requests

The Pre NC2012 unit changes that can be actioned include:

Changing a unit's teaching period may need approval from the Chair of the Academic Board (by way of email setting out the reasons to the Deputy University Secretary). See Changing the availability of units Procedures.

All changes to pre NC2012 approved units and enquiries should also be directed to Academic Policy Services by email curriculum-aps@uwa.edu.au.

System changes (where SIMS data does not match the data shown in the published online handbook) that can be actioned by the Student Systems team include:

  • Correction of unit titles and credit points to match published rules.
  • Correction of unit availability to match published rules.
  • Correction of unit rules to match published rules.

This account has been set up to notify all necessary parties when pre NC2012 changes come through, including Student Systems, Student Administration and Timetable Office.

Course Change Requests

The system course changes that can be actioned by the Student Systems team include:

  • Correction of titles and credit points required to match published rules.
  • Requests to reserve new course codes as part of the creation of new courses. Course codes will be active when approved by Academic Council.
  • Requests to reserve new unit set codes as part of the creation of new unit sets. Unit Set codes will be active when approved by Academic Council. 
  • Changes to course enrolment and completion rules to match published rules.
  • Addition and removal of unit sets attached to courses to match published rules.
